1. Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) governs all use of the Sovereign AI platform, including outbound email and SMS sequences, AI voice agents, AI content generation, and review-management automation. It supplements the Terms of Service. By using the platform you agree to follow this AUP and to ensure your end customers and any contractors using your account also follow it.
2. Prohibited Content
You may not use the platform to send, generate, or publish:
- Content that violates the rights of others (defamation, IP infringement, trade-secret misappropriation, false advertising).
- Content that promotes discrimination, harassment, violence, or illegal activity.
- Sexually explicit material, content that sexualizes minors, or content depicting graphic violence.
- Malware, phishing payloads, credential stuffing, or any content designed to deceive recipients into compromising security.
- Content that misrepresents your business identity, affiliation, or relationship with the recipient.
- Content for industries or activities prohibited by our payment processor or sub-processors (e.g. cannabis where federally illegal, firearms sales without proper licensing, gambling without proper licensing, adult services).
3. Outbound Email — CAN-SPAM and Anti-Abuse
When you use Sovereign AI to send marketing or cold outreach email, you must comply with the CAN-SPAM Act (15 U.S.C. § 7701 et seq.), CASL (Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation), the GDPR's legitimate-interest balancing test where applicable, and any other jurisdictional rules that apply to the recipients you target. Specifically:
- Truthful headers: sender name, From address, Reply-To, and subject line must accurately reflect the sender and the message's purpose.
- Identification: the message must clearly identify itself as commercial when it is commercial.
- Physical address: every commercial message must include the sender's valid physical postal address. The platform appends a CAN-SPAM footer automatically; do not strip it.
- Unsubscribe: every commercial message must include a clear unsubscribe mechanism. The platform attaches RFC 8058 List-Unsubscribe headers (one-click) and renders an unsubscribe link in the footer; suppression is honored within 10 business days (and typically within minutes). Do not import recipients who have previously opted out.
- No deceptive subject lines and no purchased / scraped recipient lists from sources of dubious provenance.
- Bounce / complaint ceiling: sustained bounce rates above 5% or spam-complaint rates above 0.1% will trigger automatic suspension of the affected sending domain pending investigation.
4. Outbound SMS and Voice — TCPA and Carrier Rules
When you use Sovereign AI to send SMS or place outbound calls, you must comply with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (47 U.S.C. § 227) and applicable state mini-TCPAs, FCC rules, CTIA Messaging Principles & Best Practices, and 10DLC / Toll-Free registration requirements. Specifically:
- Express written consent is required before sending marketing SMS to a recipient. Existing business relationship consent levels apply to transactional messaging.
- STOP / HELP keywords must be honored. The platform processes STOP/UNSUBSCRIBE/QUIT automatically; do not attempt to bypass.
- Quiet hours: no outbound messages between 9pm and 8am in the recipient's local time.
- No DNC violations: do not contact numbers on the National Do Not Call Registry for marketing purposes without an established business relationship.
- 10DLC registration: you are responsible for registering your A2P brand and campaign with the carriers via your Twilio account before scaled SMS sending.
5. AI-Generated Content and Reviews
Atlas can draft review responses, blog posts, ad copy, and customer-facing chatbot replies. You are responsible for the final published version. Do not use AI generation to:
- Post fake reviews about yourself or competitors (violates the FTC's 16 CFR Part 465 Rule on Consumer Reviews and Testimonials).
- Make outcome guarantees, earnings claims, or specific result promises that are not substantiated.
- Fabricate customer testimonials, case studies, or quantitative results.
- Imply endorsement by a person or organization without permission.
- Generate content that infringes copyrights or trademarks of others.
6. Platform Integrity
- No probing, scanning, or testing the vulnerability of the platform without written authorization.
- No automated scraping or harvesting of data from the platform beyond your own account's data export endpoints.
- No interfering with another customer's use of the platform, including degrading service through abusive query patterns.
- No reselling, sublicensing, or providing the platform as a managed service to third parties without an explicit reseller agreement.
7. Enforcement
Sovereign AI may suspend or terminate access for violations of this AUP, with notice where practicable. For violations posing immediate risk (active phishing, regulatory exposure, ongoing abuse) we may act without prior notice and contact you afterwards. Repeated or egregious violations result in permanent termination.
8. Reporting Abuse
To report content or activity you believe violates this policy, email abuse@trysovereignai.com with the relevant details. We respond to verified abuse reports within five business days; reports involving active phishing or imminent harm are triaged the same business day.
